Christ the King’s Comfort Dog Ministry...
...serves the greater northern Idaho region and beyond, bringing the love, compassion, hope, and message of Jesus to those who are hurting, in need, or in crisis.
It’s not about the dog, of course. But our Comfort Dog is truly used by God to open doors and hearts in ways, honestly, plain “you and me” cannot. Few ministries allow for engagement and involvement in the community like our Comfort Dog accomplishes.
Christ the King has an enthusiastic corps of more than twenty members regularly meeting together to train in all things “Comfort Dog.” They will serve our community and region on a nearly daily basis in—
- Organizations serving veterans, foster families, the disabled, the unsheltered, and those in recovery
- Senior and rehabilitative care facilities
- Public and private schools
- Hospitals
- Police and fire stations
During times of crisis or tragedy our Comfort Dog and handlers also serve those impacted in and by—
- Natural disasters like forest fires, storms, or floods
- Tragic deaths in the community
CTK’s Comfort Dog Ministry provides our congregation with a bridge into our community and greater region for proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Comfort Dog opens doors. God’s spirit opens hearts as God’s people engage others in Jesus’ name.
