King's Garden

Christ the King’s Community Garden

—a shared sunny green space where members of the congregation work alongside neighbors of the congregation and other volunteers to grow food, foster fellowship, and serve others.

Twenty-five compost-rich prepared raised garden plots are available for anyone to rent, plant, grow, and harvest their own flowers and vegetables. A timed irrigation system—critical to successful gardening in north Idaho—is provided, and folks are almost always on hand to offer gardening know-how, plant starts and spare seeds, spiritual renewal, and prayer.

The Community Garden is significant in helping address food insecurity, too. The garden collaborates closely with an off-site greenhouse to ensure a steady supply of fresh produce year-round, directly provided to the church’s weekly Love Pantry for distribution. As neighbor and member gardens grow, their surplus produce gets donated to the pantry for distribution, too. And the garden’s giant Puppy Pumpkin Patch, partnered with the church’s Comfort Dog Ministry, is a great mix of community engagement and fun, family-oriented events.

Join the Garden Team and help build stronger local connections that benefit both church members and the wider community. Shared work, sunshine, dirty hands, and the abundance of God’s Creation! It doesn’t get much better!
