1. Tell us a little about you and your family:
I’ve lived in North Idaho since 2006 with my wife, Crystal, who is a lifelong resident; we both work at Kootenai Health and feel blessed to have our two sons, daughter-in-law, and grandson living nearby. Our family is rooted in the Coeur d'Alene area, where our sons Jake and Luke both serve the community.
2. What Bible verse do you live by, and why?
Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds me that while my understanding is limited, God’s vision is perfect across my past, present, and future. Trusting Him gives me peace when life’s twists and turns don't make sense.
3. Favorite things/hobbies/activities in your free time:
Traveling, cruising, and swimming in the ocean with my family; staying active through regular exercise and playing bass guitar; singing in the church Praise Band and serving as a Deacon in the Life Recovery ministry.
4. Past roles, education, and accomplishments:
I retired from a 28-year career with the Idaho Department of Correction, specializing in Drug Court and Critical Incident Stress Management. I graduated from Boise State in Criminal Justice, and became a Licensed Lay Deacon through the Mission Training Center. Right now I serve as a Patient Safety Attendant and Certified Psychiatric Technician at Kootenai Health.
5. Favorite thing about Christ the King Lutheran Church:
I love that the congregation has woven recovery into its DNA, fulfilling the Great Commission by choosing to be a hospital for the broken rather than a social club.
