Pastor of Discipleship and Mission

1. Tell us a little about yourself and your family:

Cassie and I have known one another since the first grade and have been married since 1993. We are originally from the Chicago area and lived in Southern California from 2005-2025. Our oldest daughter Angeline (Kyle) is a Physician in Chicago and our youngest, Julia (Benjamin) is a Marketing Director in Sacramento. We're expecting our first grandchild in August 2026!

2. What is the Bible verse you live by, and why?

As one who came to faith in my mid-twenties, Galatians 2:20 became and continues to be an anchor: "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." This verse focuses my Spiritual growth in becoming more like Jesus each day. I pray for attentiveness to the Holy Spirit and how I am being continually formed to look more and more like Jesus for the sake of those around me.

3. What are your favorite things/hobbies/ activities you do in your free time?

Our family loves mountain hiking and rock climbing. When we're all together we love sharing good food and playing games. Personally, I read books on many different subjects, and enjoy writing reflective poems and prayers inspired by the Word and the beauty of nature.

4. Tell us a little about your past roles, education, accomplishments, or anything else you'd like us to know:

I have been serving the church in domestic missions, that is in creating new opportunities for people to hear the Gospel in ways they can best understand. This ministry has led our family to plant a church in Southern California, launch a mission development agency in Los Angeles, and serve the wider church in District mission and education. We also launched our own non-profit ministry, EXEN Adventures, to help people experience the encounter of God in nature. In 2026 I completed my Doctor of Ministry degree in Spiritual Direction and Formation. I'm looking forward to sharing this gift in a long practice of walking with others as they gain clarity in their identity in Christ and what that means for their lives.

5. What is your favorite thing about Christ the King?

I've found Christ the King to be a healthy, friendly congregation that is committed to growing in their relationship with God in Jesus. They are truly led by the Holy Spirit to live out their faith with one another and the community of Coeur d'Alene. I look forward to growing together with Christ the King as we become an even greater influence on the Spiritual lives of people in the region!
