Formed on the Way: A Lenten Invitation to Small Groups

Lent is a journey.

Beginning on Ash Wednesday and stretching through the weeks that lead us to Good Friday and Easter, Lent invites us to walk with Jesus—to follow Him into the wilderness, into prayer, into honest reflection, and ultimately toward the cross and resurrection. It’s a season when the Church slows down, listens more closely, and allows the Holy Spirit to shape us again in the way of Christ.

This Lent, we invite you to step onto that path with others by joining a small group.

Our theme this season is “Formed on the Way.” Lent reminds us that spiritual formation doesn’t happen all at once or alone. It happens as we walk—together—through repentance and hope, prayer and preparation, trusting that the Holy Spirit is at work forming us into the image of Jesus for the sake of others.

Christian spiritual formation is about being shaped from the inside out: learning to trust who we are in Christ and how we are called to live and love in the world. In small groups during Lent, we’ll create space for Scripture, conversation, prayer, and reflection—simple but powerful tools the Spirit uses to steady our hearts, clarify our minds, and give us courage for faithful living.

These studies are designed not just to inform us, but to form us—so that the forgiveness and freedom given in Christ’s cross and resurrection take deeper root in our lives. As we are formed, others are blessed. As we are shaped by grace, the love of Jesus becomes more visible in our homes, workplaces, and relationships.

Whether you’re new to small groups or have been part of one before, Lent is a meaningful time to join in. Come walk the road with us. Come be formed on the way.
